It may be hard to believe but this little Publishing House - Writesy Press - is <i style="font-weight: bold;">two years old</i>!!! Because of that, I've got a special deal for you so keep reading.<br />
<br />
As the Owner of this micro-press I'm compelled to step back and reflect for a couple minutes. Writesy Press officially opened its doors in January of 2012 as the finishing touches were being done to edit my first book then prepare it for printing and paperback distribution. In many ways that feels like a lifetime ago.<br />
<br />
<b>But wasn't it just yesterday?</b><br />
<br />
<div>
So much has happened in the past 2 years and I've learned so much about the publishing industry! The ink on <i>Ripple</i> <i>the Twine </i>was barely dry and I had to throw myself into formatting, the Library of Congress, legality, and assigning an ISBN. Not to mention conceptualizing cover art, writing jacket copy and fighting with MS Word on how to make page numbers do what I wanted them to do. And then it was all about marketing and distribution. That is, until I got the itch to start writing another book.<br />
<br />
<b>There was no stopping the second book!</b><br />
<br />
By the time <i>Reckless Abandon</i> hit the shelves it felt like old hat doing all the administrative type stuff that needs to be done to bring a book to market. It still took a while but it seemed that <i>Reckless</i> just flowed better in every way. The pressure was off. My second book could be a disaster and it wouldn't have mattered. Not in the same way as a first book disaster would have hit me.<br />
<br />
And now another year has gone by. Another full calendar year and not a single book has been released on this micro-press label. Which is a damn shame!<br />
<br />
Mostly that's because as the Owner I've had to shift my writing priorities to ensure I can keep paying the bills. I've been full time freelancing since May of last year and I must confess - I love it! Of course that means fiction writing has all but hit a screeching halt for the moment. Unless something insane happens its unlikely I'll release a fiction book/novella in 2014.<br />
<br />
<b>Will Writesy Press survive the no fiction release year?</b><br />
<br />
In short, yes! We're not going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, through my freelancing work I've discovered nuggets of advice, wisdom, tips and other need-to-know articles for logic based, snarky and fun freelancers. I hope to pull a lot of it together into an eBook by late spring and have it ready for distro by early summer.<br />
<br />
Stay tuned for details!<br />
<br />
<b>Here's the deal...</b><br />
<br />
Now, I promised a special deal! For those of you who would like a <b>signed print copy</b> of <i>Ripple the Twine</i> <b><u>and</u> </b><i>Reckless Abandon</i> here's the skinny.<br />
<br />
For our birthday I'm offering both books (print only) for a total of just <b>$20! </b>That's like getting <i>Reckless Abandon</i> for the same price as the eBook! But you'll have <u>TWO</u> fully autographed pieces of literary goodness in your hands instead! Real paper. With the smell of real ink. The feel of a real book. Pages you can dog-ear. Your name inside the front cover. Some things are worth the throwback to paper.<br />
<br />
I take PayPal or if we're face-to-face a check would be fine.<br />
<br />
This sale is only going on until the end of January because, like our birthday, the party has to come to an end sometime. Books make excellent gifts and I'd be happy to personalize the message to anyone you like.<br />
<br />
Email me so we can get started on your order - randomlunacy11 at yahoo dot com<br />

Enjoy the start of 2014 and may all of your wishes come true this year!<br />

The winner of <a href="http://susan-thebookbag.blogspot.com/2013/04/on-tour-reckless-abandon-by-jenn-flynn.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">the giveaway over at The Book Bag</span></a> was chosen and I'm so excited to get this book out to her. I really hope she enjoys it!<br /><br />Every blogger on the tour was gracious and wonderful to get their posts up on the scheduled dates with zero drama or complications. I hope their traffic got a bump out of it because they're all fantastic book bloggers. Anything you could be looking for in the realms of Romance, Erotica, Women's Fiction, Chick Lit, or many other genres can be found reviewed on these sites. Readers are the lifeblood of published Authors and I can't begin to thank them enough for doing just that - reading my novella. Thanks for taking part in my tour!<br /><br />But none of it would have been possible if it wasn't for <a href="http://chicklitplus.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Samantha at Chick Lit Plus</span></a> for her super organizational skills to pull these fantastic bloggers together for a most successful tour! Thanks Samantha!<br /><br />If you'd like to re-visit, or visit for the first time, any of the bloggers from my tour click over to the <a href="http://writesy.blogspot.com/p/virtual-tour-reckless-abandon-novella.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Tour Page on Writesy Press</span></a>.<br /><br /><div align="center">• • •</div><br />May is shaping up to be just as busy as April was as I revive some old projects, breathe life into a couple of previously shelved projects, and also start something new.<br /><br />My digital journal, <a href="http://randomnessandlunacy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Randomness and Lunacy</span></a>, is where you'll find me most of the month. I'm doing a month long of music inspired posts. So far I've written/published/scheduled to post up through May 8 and I'm very proud of the stories included. Many of them will contribute to my new creative non-fiction project.<br /><br />The possible memoir will be a slow and steady piece of work for me through the summer. In addition I also plan to edit poems for my soon to be re-released expanded <em>Trying for the Moon</em>.<br /><br />I also plan to take the sequel for <em><strong><span style="color: #073763;">Reckless Abandon</span></strong></em> in a new direction this month and I've already got a few thousand words down on paper. I think the storyline will be enjoyable for readers and might answer some of those lingering questions they may still have after finishing <em><strong><span style="color: #073763;">Reckless Abandon</span></strong></em>. I may not finish the draft by the end of the month but I'm goaling myself to have a first draft ready by June 11.<br /><br />As my own Agent I set the deadlines but that doesn't make them any less real. Sometimes I think the added pressure is good for me though. Call it the perfectionist in me or whatever you like but I like to deliver on the promises I make. I'm expecting to spend the rest of the summer editing the novel and pulling cover art together. If this next one ends up as a Writesy Press Publication as well then I hope to have it out by August. However I'm considering other options with this one.<br /><br />I've already self-published two books and though I enjoyed the experience I think it's time for me to really buckle down to find an Agent. I'd really like to see what it's like on the other side being published by a traditional house. We'll see what happens. By August I could completely change my mind and decide to dive right back into the frantic weeks spent publishing another book!<br /><br />Have a great May folks, see you out there somewhere in the written world.<br /><br /><a href="http://randomnessandlunacy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Randomness and Lunacy</span></a><br /><a href="http://writesy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Writesy Press</span></a><br /><a href="http://green-reviewer.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Green Leaf Reviewer</span></a><br /><a href="http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jenn-flynn-shon/60/249/168" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Linked In</span></a><br /><a href="http://twitter.com/jennshon" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000;">Twitter</span></a>Jenn Flynn-Shonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08441834864191292424noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9173149632791370734.post-68221610289606909762013-04-13T11:11:00.000-07:002013-05-24T10:20:47.570-07:00Reckless Abandon Blog Book Tour Starting MondayIt's finally here! Just like the last one it will consist of book excerpts, guest posts, interviews and reviews from some bloggers that I've really come to enjoy reading since doing my last tour, as well as some new bloggers I look forward to getting to know this time around. I know you'll enjoy it!<br /><br />Graphic for the tour should be posted on the Chick Lit Plus site soon and I'll share all the info as it becomes available. I'm really looking forward to touring this book and I'm so proud of how well it's already being received by readers. <br /><br />I'm always interested in what you have to say about my books. Even if it's short and sweet it would be very helpful, and I'd be most grateful, for an Amazon review of <strong><em>Reckless Abandon</em></strong>. Reviews help Authors thrive in the competitive marketplace and gain higher ranking on Amazon which of course helps with exposure. And we Indies need as much of it as we can get!<br /><br />And a big huge THANKS to everyone who has already reviewed it on Amazon or Goodreads! Then back in October of 2012 I published <strong><em>Reckless Abandon</em></strong> as an eBook and a whole new world opened up!</span><br /><br /><span style="color: black; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The real secret that I found out was that publishing an eBook on KDP Select through Amazon is <u>easy</u>. Really, really easy (disclaimer: as long as you've already formatted your Word doc correctly but that's a post for my Writesy blog).</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">So after I fully formatted <em><strong>Reckless Abandon</strong></em> for paperback (and let me just give a HUGE thank you shout-out to my mom </span><a href="http://judifitzpatrick.redbubble.com/works" target="_blank"><span style="color: #351c75;">Judi FitzPatrick Studio</span></a><span style="color: black;">, for her amazing work on both of my cover designs!) it seemed like a no brainer to get <em><strong>Ripple the Twine</strong></em> ready for sale as an eBook.</span></span><br /><br /><span style="color: black; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">And now they're both here in both formats, ready for your reading pleasure! A brief synopsis of each book and the cover art is below, please click on the links that follow to read more, see what my reviewers are saying (LOVE you all!), and to purchase either the eBook or print version depending on your preference.</span><br /><br /><span style="color: black; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Stick around as I'll be talking soon about an upcoming Blog Tour for <em><strong>Reckless Abandon</strong></em> and will be hosting a Giveaway on Goodreads for a print copy of the book as well. I sat back down too and turned to look at the box next to him on the cushion. His cologne wafted up into the air. Still wearing Drakkar Noir. I looked at the small laugh lines that had formed beside his eyes. At his salt sprinkled hair. Maybe it wasn’t that JJ never changed, maybe I liked to think he hadn’t moved since I hugged him goodbye at Sky Harbor in the winter of 1991.<o:p></o:p></span></div><br /><br /><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">AUTHOR BIO</span></strong></span></span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Jenn Flynn-Shon is the Author of <em><span style="color: #f1c232;"><span style="color: black;">Ripple the Twine</span></span></em> - a Tomboy-meets-Townie Chick-Lit novel released in April 2012, <em><span style="color: #783f04;"><span style="color: black;">Trying for the Moon</span></span></em> - a collection of prose poetry (Chapbook), <em><span style="color: #274e13;"><span style="color: black;">Small but Scrappy: Volume One</span></span></em> - a Perzine focused on Jenn's first eight years as a Writer, and </span><a href="http://randomnessandlunacy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #990000; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Randomness and Lunacy</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">, a personal blog documenting all kinds of crazy debauchery that Jenn has been involved in over the years.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><br /><br /><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">She's been writing since age eleven, or thereabouts, and started exploring the world of fiction writing at age thirteen. <span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">You’d probably think by now that I’m completely burned out on talking, reading or thinking about <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> right? Well, yes and no. This book will always be my first published novel. It will always hold that place in my heart as the first child. So miraculous it exists at all.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">But then again, it can become tiresome talking about it. Do you recall the scene in <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Jerry Maguire</i> when Jerry is in the hotel room with his number one star prospect, Cushman, and the phone rings? Someone tells Cushman he’s on the jumbotron and Cush announces that he’s sick of looking at himself; that he has “Cush-lash”.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">There are times I feel the same way about my first novel. Times I can’t wait to get the next one out just so I can stop talking about this one. However, this is not one of those times. Today I’m sort of reeling in the amazing response <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> has gotten from readers.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">And not just any readers, ones who read <u>a lot</u> of books by Indie Authors but still happened to love mine! I know maybe I shouldn’t be surprised anymore but I’m still in awe of the response every time someone new reads it and either officially reviews it or just lets me know how much they loved reading it. Seriously. Awe.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">My Chick Lit Plus Blog Tour was still waiting for one last post to go up. With the holiday weekend this past weekend I didn’t get a chance to share the review that was posted over on <a href="http://levillageest.blogspot.com/2012/09/ripple-twine-review.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #7f6000;">The East Village</span></strong></a> this past Saturday. The review was late but I wasn’t stressed about it, hey life happens!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">When Samantha at CLP told me the review was up I checked out the link on my phone (which can sometimes act up opening links but I was excited to give it a try!). I almost fell off the chair when I saw what she had to say about my novel! I encourage everyone to get over and read the review on <a href="http://levillageest.blogspot.com/2012/09/ripple-twine-review.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #7f6000;">The East Village</span></strong></a> and leave her a comment. I was pretty much literally blown away by her response!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">And then this morning I’m perusing some blogs that I’m long overdue to catch up on reading and I come across a recap post over on <a href="http://change-the-word.blogspot.com/2012/09/book-reviews-august-2012-recap.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #e06666;">Change <span style="color: black;">the</span> Word</span></strong></a> about the books she’s read in August. Her <a href="http://change-the-word.blogspot.com/2012/08/book-review-ripple-twine.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #f1c232;">review of mine</span></a> was so kind, 4 out of 5 stars and fantastic feedback including advice I’ll make use of while writing future books. Then I read this post today.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">Laura recapped the four books she read in August and she said <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> was her “Read of the Month”! Holy cow! I’m humbled and so honored. It’s hard to put into words anything other than thank you to express how much I appreciate being told that my book was the leader of the pack (and let me tell ya, the other books on her month’s reading list well, let’s just say that I’ve heard whispers of how awesome they all are!). Please check out the recap post on <a href="http://change-the-word.blogspot.com/2012/09/book-reviews-august-2012-recap.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #e06666;">Change <span style="color: black;">the</span> Word</span></strong></a> and maybe you’ll even discover another book you want to check out.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">So now with the Labor Day holiday behind us here in the U.S. the vibe of summer fun and breezy beach days are winding down. And so is my heavy promotion of <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i>. Moving into fall my main focus will be to get my second manuscript, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><strong><span style="color: #20124d;">Work in Progress</span></strong></i>, more fully edited and formatted for eBook. But of course I’ll also be taking a little time to appreciate the fruits of the labor that I put into my first. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">And hell, if hockey doesn’t happen this season I’m going to (sob uncontrollably because I’ll) have a whole heck of a lot more time to spend writing and editing, so you never know what might materialize!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">First and foremost I need to send a HUGE thanks out to Samantha at Chick Lit Plus for organizing and running a super successful virtual tour! Without her expertise I never would have been able to pull this off. I hope you know how excited I was to go on this tour Samantha and I thank you tremendously for doing all you could to make every stop happen on time and on track. I had a BLAST and will definitely hire you again!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">Thanks again to Samantha and to all the bloggers who read then reviewed and posted about my book. As an Indie Author I am amazed at the level of support out there for what we do. I might still write even if I didn’t have a single reader but it sure wouldn’t be as much fun if I didn’t get to promote other people along the way (especially bloggers seeing as though that’s where I got my start in self-publishing!). You’ve all been wonderful to connect with, to read and to follow and I’m really touched to have had so many of you respond positively to my debut novel <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></i>!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">But it isn’t over yet! Today’s Tour stop comes from Lisa at </span><a href="http://lost-in-lit.blogspot.com/2012/08/review-ripple-twine-by-jenn-flynn-shon.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #741b47; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Lost in Literature</span></strong></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">. She was kind enough to post a bio and synopsis of my book in addition to a review in which she gave <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> FOUR STARS! Woo hoo!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I’d like to share a somewhat funny story about sending my book out to Lisa. I had purchased a new style of envelope for mailing out these review copies. The envelopes are awesome because they’re 95% recycled content, 65% of which is post-consumer, and they’re really super rigid so I know they’ll protect the books well. Everyone’s book arrived protected and inside their envelope <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>except Lisa’s</u></i>!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Considering the blog’s title is Lost in Literature and the book seemed to disappear in the mail I was shaking my head at the irony of it all. Anyway, I chuckled and sent her out another copy.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Thankfully I did! Lisa said"<em>Ripple the Twine</em> is a light, quick read that I thoroughly loved from beginning to end."</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I appreciate the opportunity for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> to be featured on </span><a href="http://lost-in-lit.blogspot.com/2012/08/review-ripple-twine-by-jenn-flynn-shon.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #741b47; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Lost in Literature</span></strong></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> today Lisa!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">* * *<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">One quick thing I’d like to address in Lisa’s review however is in regards to the cover. It may appear that these items were Photoshopped together but that isn’t the case at all. This photo shoot was set up by my mom, </span><a href="http://www.judifitzpatrick.com/" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #274e13; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Judi FitzPatrick Studio</span></strong></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">, at my sister’s apartment. The shoes are mine & puck belonged to a colleague of my sister. The still life scene was shot in multiple angles at it sat on a coffee table, shrouded in a “green screen”, out on my sister’s front balcony. Although the perspective might look off I assure you, that heel is on the puck and toe was on the table!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">One of the stops I was most excited about sending a copy of <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> out to was </span><a href="http://jerseygirlbookreviews.blogspot.com/2012/08/ripple-twine-by-jenn-flynn-shon-author.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #b45f06; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Jersey Girl Book Reviews</span></strong></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">. Run by Kathleen she loves to read and is a big supporter of Indie Authors, like me! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">As a sports girl from Boston there’s no doubt I’m going to have a love for the Bruins and the Red Sox. And anyone who has read my book knows that Sara is also a lover of the Beantown sports teams. I sent my book off to Kathleen with fingers crossed that she wasn’t a Yankees fan (but truthfully I knew better, I know how and where loyalties lie in the northeast!). But she was totally professional when reviewing the book…despite her love for a couple of Boston’s biggest rivals.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Not only did Kathleen give me a great review but she was gracious enough to allow me to post about how my love of Boston sports helped me shape <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> in my Guest Post: “How Boston Sports Love Helped Me Write My First Novel”. With a mention of the Yankees <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">and</i></b> the Flyers as being two of her top teams, I have to thank </span><a href="http://jerseygirlbookreviews.blogspot.com/2012/08/ripple-twine-by-jenn-flynn-shon-author.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #b45f06; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Jersey Girl Book Reviews</span></strong></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> for allowing my Boston-ness to reign supreme on her blog today. (heehee)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">And not only that but I have to thank her for such a glowing review! Kathleen really understood the characters and their motivations. She says:<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">“<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The author does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life with their individual stories, their strong bond of friendship, as well as their dialogues and interactions, it made the story that much more of an entertaining and compelling read.</i>”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Her entire review of the book was more than I could’ve asked for! <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Today’s stop on the two week whirlwind Blog Tour takes <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> all the way to Lincoln, Nebraska<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>for a review on </span><a href="http://www.change-the-word.blogspot.com/2012/08/book-review-ripple-twine.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #e06666; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Change <span style="color: black;">the</span><span style="color: #e06666;"> </span>Word</span></strong></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">, run by the spunky and sweet Laura. I was thrilled to learn how much we have in common – we’re both two-time NaNoWriMo winners (woo hoo for Wrimos!), we both enjoy sports, and we’re both hard at work on our third manuscript. How cool is that? Very…but not as cool as it was for this Indie Author to read her review of my first novel!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Laura gave <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> four out of five stars and said that I had “Well-developed, realistic characters with relatable issues” which was cool to hear as that’s exactly what I was going for when writing it. She also gave me about the hugest compliment in the world by saying “Ripple the Twine is a solid debut fiction novel. I look forward to seeing Flynn-Shon's future projects.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">You all remember Books Etc. right? The blog is run by Kaley and she posted a wonderful review of <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><strong><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></a></strong> </i>this past Wednesday. My sights were first set on traditional publishing. It didn’t work out and after a while I decided that all I really wanted was to have the book released into the world. <span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">Today's stop on my Chick Lit Plus Blog Book Tour is to the wonderful Kaley at <a href="http://booksandstuff-kstar.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Books Etc.</span></strong></a> She's is working her reviewing muscle for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><a href="http://www.lulu.com/shop/jenn-flynn-shon/ripple-the-twine/paperback/product-20117696.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #f1c232;">Ripple the Twine</span></strong></a></i> today, and what a great review! Please take a minute to <a href="http://booksandstuff-kstar.blogspot.com/2012/08/clp-blog-tour-ripple-twine.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">check out her candid feedback</span></a>.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">Now, some of you might think I’m crazy for saying that Kaley’s review is "great". There were a few places where she struggled with my writing, particularly narrative versus dialogue, etc. But these are the things I <u>need</u> to hear in order to improve as an Author! So I’m thanking Kaley for sharing where there might be issues, how to tighten up my novels, and will certainly make use of her advice in the future.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

</o:p></span><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS','sans-serif';">Aside from the critique, Kaley seemed to really enjoy the book. Hooray! All the positive response I’m getting for Sara and her friends makes me so happy! This was a story I had to tell and as my first novel I’m just so grateful its getting the happy vibes and healthy critique that I’ve seen so far.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
